Asean Workshop On Cultural Heritage Tourism

Wednesday (11/07), Lawang Sewu is one of the cultural heritage building which belongs to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) was used as “Workshop on Cultural Heritage Tourism”, a conference among Asean countries which discuss about the utilization of cultural heritage in tourism.

Most workshop participants came to Indonesia for their first visit, said that they were impressed with the magnificent of Lawang Sewu Building. Local guide accompany the group to travel around and also document every ornament and corner of Lawang Sewu building which was built by Railway Company Nedherland Indische Spoorweg Maatsschapijj on 1907.

Vice Director Minister of Tourism gave a souvenir to EVP of Indonesian Railways Heritage and Conservation Department about the cooperation.

After the presentation session, participants took a tour around Ambarawa Railway Museum and travel by train to the Tuntang Station, where this line passed by Rawa Pening district which has a tourism potential in Central Java.
